Can a Christian be a libertarian? →
Christians in American politics have argued for years that God endorses the political agenda of Republicans or Democrats, but is there a third way to think about the relationship between God and government? Christians from the left and the right are increasingly turning to libertarianism not because it is a “middle ground,” but because it is an entirely different way of thinking about...

Five minutes more →
‘’A hero,” wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson, “is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer.” Surely those crucial five minutes are also the distinguishing mark in the recent lives of so many of the victims and survivors of Tropical Storm “Sendong” in Mindanao who have borne this unprecedented tragedy in their midst, not only with fortitude and faith, but also, in the face of...

A prisoner’s Christmas →
LUKYANIVSKA PRISON, Kyiv—It has been said that there are no atheists in a foxhole. Here, after my show trial and four and a half months in a cell, I have discovered that there are no atheists in prison, either. When, despite unbearable pain, you are interrogated—including in your cell—for dozens of hours without a break, and an authoritarian regime’s entire system of coercion, including its...

Soldiers’ Choice →
kennethto: This might be one of the best opinion pieces written in 2011, everyone should read it: So this is Christmas, season of peace, time to reflect on the people coming home from a war that most Americans say was not worth it, and those still fighting in another war that raises new doubts by the day. Many of the service members returning from Iraq — where nearly 4,500 American lives...

The pile-on
riverofliberty: Looks like the media pile-on is in full effect. Just when you think you’ve heard it all…the next article seems to top it. Newsletters, former aides, … Perhaps the beltway will uncover an old recording of Ron Paul saying a curse word as a teenager. Since the memo has apparently gone out to trash him, it’s probably safe to assume one thing: Ron Paul must be really close to...

Blowback is Real →
mattratleph: I found a very good article that tries to explain the concept of “blowback,” something that Ron Paul has been trying to talk about for a while now. The article quoted an exchange between Ron Paul, Wendell Goler and Rudy Giuliani during a 2007 presidential debate. Ron Paul was asked why he opposed foreign interventionism and his response was in light of 9/11: Paul: Have you ever...

The Macaulay Culkin Syndrome →
jeffcanoy: I have, as my friends call it, the Macaulay Culkin syndrome. Every Christmas, I dream of not being home alone. Since returning to the Philippines eight years ago, my December calendar is usually filled with four words – work, work and more work. It’s a way of coping. For years, I’ve stood by this rationalization that if I keep myself busy, I won’t have a second to feel the loneliness...

CNN talks to Ron Paul about the Newsletters
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, have you stopped beating your wife?
Ron Paul: I never beat my wife.
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, do you advocate wife beating?
Ron Paul: No, I don't.
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, are you going to deny wife beating?
Ron Paul: I don't deny anything. I don't beat my wife. I don't advocate wife beating.
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, who advocates wife beating?
Ron Paul: I don't know, but it's not me.
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, have you stopped beating your wife?
Ron Paul: I don't beat my wife. Your network asked me about it yesterday. Why don't you just replay the answers from yesterday?
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, are you going to deny wife beating with metal clothes hangers?
Ron Paul: Huh?
CNN 'reporter': How do you beat your wife?
Ron Paul: I don't.
CNN 'reporter': Dr. Paul, have you stopped beating your wife?
Ron Paul: Sorry Gloria, I gotta go do something useful. Bye.

Here's what I noticed - people can't really attack...
So they go to the newsletters. Published over 20 years ago. That he had clarified and answered many times already. That he clearly rebuts with his policies and track record. Over and over again. You know how action speaks louder than words? Even children know that. Heck, children understand that all too well. So watch the good doctor. That is all.

qwertybard reblogged your post: Ron Paul It’s funny because Ron Paul is a homophobe and Ian McKellen, the guy who plays Gandalf, is gay. It’s funnier that you can’t event man up and not delete after reblogging and adding inane comments. Even funnier that you pester people happy in their beliefs.
