Me: why, I said, do people expect to be loved by the person they love all the time?
Me: because if it's really love, there should be no expectations
Me: just expressions
Chess: human beings like reciprocation
Chess: by nature
Me: yeah, that's it
Me: it just becomes too selfish, sometimes
Me: because there are others who love you too, but you don't give the time of the day
Me: so, I think
Me: you shouldn't be saying it's unfair that the one you love doesn't love you back
Me: because someone out there feels that way too
Chess: I don't really think it's unfair either
Chess: we develop that feeling because our emotions make us feel that we were robbed of something
Chess: when nothing belonged to us in the first place
Me: h-mm
Chess: and once you realize that, you become more understanding of what it means to confess to someone and you can accept the fact that things won't go your way and it won't be the end of the world either
Me: ... I should totally post this

CDQ calls for battle →
P-Noy has a point: It’s time we spoke our mind about the judiciary as it has turned out to be. It’s time we spoke our mind about the impeachment court as it is turning out to be. It’s time we exercised People Power. What collision course? The Senate and Supreme Court are not fiefdoms to be guarded ferociously by jealous warlords. They are extensions of the people, they exist to carry out the...

Why was the battle fought? One of the reasons given was “General MacArthur’s personal obsession with Manila as a symbol of his promised return. Until he could hold the victory parade in the city and publicly hand power back to a Filipino Commonwealth government, his self-appointed task was incomplete… he viewed the capture of Manila as the key to victory, deciding to surround the enemy leaving...

A Few Reasons to Oppose the War
by Lisa Suhair Majaj
because wind soughs in the branches of trees like blood sighing through veins because in each country there are songs huddled like wet-feathered birds because even though the news has nothing new to say and keeps on saying it NO still fights its way into the world because for every bomb that is readied a baby nestles into her mother latches onto a nipple beaded with milk...

(via New ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Trailer - The Lizard is Revealed)
@GreyDuck: Dammit. I want to dislike the new Spider-Man on principle, but… that DOES look like it might be kind of good.
@cleolinda: It’s funny when you don’t read the comics—“Oh, Peter’s NOT supposed to be a meebly dork? He’s SUPPOSED to be snarky? Oh.”
@cleolinda: Like, I’m pretty sure New Spidey would beat up...

My favorite Cleverly Inventive Metaphors
Her face was a perfect oval, like a circle that had its two other sides gently compressed by a Thigh Master.
The little boat gently drifted across the pond exactly the way a bowling ball wouldn’t.
Her hair glistened in the rain like nose hair after a sneeze.
He was as tall as a six-foot-three-inch tree.
The hailstones leaped from the pavement, just like maggots when you fry them in hot...
